About the Author
I live on the south coast of New South Wales on the shores Lake Illawarra. Surrounded by tall trees, a beautiful garden and the many forms of life that visit on a daily basis. Out there opens my ears to the whispering of a cosmic spirit.
I was born and lived my formative years in the tiny country town of Peak Hill. My home was a tumbled down shack where the roof leaked when it rained and we could see the stars at night through the large cracks in the walls. My mother from the age of sixteen gave birth to and raised six children. My father, older brothers and uncles were shearers, drovers and stockmen.
This body of work is an eclectic gathering of poetry born from deep feelings and honest reflections. It covers a wide range of themes, stirring emotions and opening windows into the rhythm of everyday life.
Within these pages, humor and playfulness are never far away. Pieces like The Constipated Dog, Jack, and Daddy Long Legs lighten the heart. Yet alongside them are poems filled with profound sorrow, such as The Empty Billy Can, Never More, and Mary Ann, each echoing the stories of real people who touched the poet’s life.
